POSITION:             CERTIFIED SCHOOL NURSE – LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE

 

LOCATION:            GLENWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

 

EFFECTIVE DATE:  NOVEMBER 23, 2026, UNTIL THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR

                                                               

COMPENSATION:   PER RTMEA CONTRACT

 

                                STARTING SALARY RANGE

                                $68,300 (Bachelor’s - Step 1) to $84,300 (Master’s - Step 6)

                                   

Salary to be prorated based upon the length of the assignment.

                                               

 

The Rose Tree Media School District seeks a student-centered Certified School Nurse to support the health, safety, and well-being of students at Glenwood Elementary School. The ideal candidate understands the developmental needs of elementary-aged children and provides proactive, preventative, and responsive health services that promote student wellness and readiness to learn. We are seeking a professional who is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and responsive school environment while collaborating with staff and families to address student health needs. This full-time, long-term substitute position is available from November 23, 2026, through the conclusion of the 2026-2027 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Valid Pennsylvania School Nurse (Educational Specialist) certification.
• Knowledge of school health services, including health assessments, care planning, medication administration, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, maintain accurate health records, and respond effectively in a fast-paced school environment.
• Proficiency in the use of technology and electronic health record systems.
• Current required background clearances (see below).
