COMPENSATION:            PER FOOD SERVICE HANDBOOK

                                        $18.98/hour Food Service Worker, $20.06/hour Cook, & $24.61/hour Unit Lead

 

The Rose Tree Media School District is seeking dependable, customer-focused individuals to join our Food Services Department for the 2026–2027 school year. Food service staff play an important role in supporting student health, wellness, and learning by preparing and serving nutritious meals in a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment. Opportunities are available for Food Service Workers, Cooks, and Unit Leads at locations throughout the District. The ideal candidate enjoys working as part of a team, demonstrates a commitment to excellent customer service, and contributes to maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in food service, food preparation, customer service, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain established procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and visitors.
• Ability to operate food service equipment and point-of-sale systems, or willingness to learn.
• SERV Safe certification preferred for Cook and Unit Lead positions.
• Experience with food preparation and kitchen operations preferred for Cook and Unit Lead positions.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The position requires frequent standing and walking throughout the workday, as well as regular bending, reaching, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. Employees must be able to safely operate food service equipment and handle food and supplies. The ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds and work in a kitchen environment with varying temperatures is required.
