POSITION:                       SUBSTITUTE BUS DRIVERS

LOCATION:                       TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT

COMPENSATION:              $25.17/HOUR

QUALIFICATIONS:            Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to high school graduation plus two years experience driving an automobile.  Possession of an appropriate valid automotive operator’s license and CDL endorsed for school bus and a clean driving record.  Successful completion of school district’s bus driver’s training course which is required to achieve permanent employment status; periodic retraining will also be required.  Must remain in compliance with state, county, and school district laws and regulations regarding use of controlled substance and alcohol, as applied to school bus drivers.  Unless assignments are limited to driving during daylight hours, must demonstrate ability of any “night vision” impairment.  Must meet the mandated physical and mental requirements established by the state and the requirements established by the United States Department of Transportation to obtain a commercial driver’s license.

Must be able to hear (maximum of 40 decibels loss); see with near acuity of 20 inches or less and far acuity of 20 feet or more; ability to sit for extended periods; subject to inside environmental conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit and occasionally required to walk or stand.  The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job.  The employee frequently repeats the same hand, arm or finger motion many times.  The employee frequently uses hand strength to grasp tools.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds such as students.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and peripheral vision.
